The BEAM Alliance, together with high-level partners of the AMR ecosystem, are calling for urgent action on designing and implementing new economic incentive models (“PULL” incentives) for the development and commercialization of AMR products (see attached).
Whilst the COVID-19 crisis is having a devastating effect on global health and an unprecedented impact on the global economy, the AMR community is highly concerned by the pre-pandemic stage of the AMR threat and by the lack of progress made so far on fixing its related market failure.
We, as a community, are calling the EU and Member States to rapidly introduce and implement a relevant legislative framework able to address the problem.
Such a framework is paramount for Europe to build resilience in front of the AMR threat. Co-signatories of the paper attached are willing to take their part in this endeavour.
