Research network with low- and middle-income countries

Faced with the growing problem of antibiotic resistance in countries with limited resources, the PPR is committed to organizing and coordinating a network to structure responses to future calls for projects and federate forces between countries for research on antibiotic resistance in partnership with local scientists. The RPP’s ambition is also to develop approaches to the prevention and control of antibiotic resistance that are acceptable to local populations.

Two main objectives are envisaged. The first is to organize and coordinate a network to structure future calls for projects and federate forces for research on antibiotic resistance in countries with limited resources. This structuring and coordination is recommended in conjunction with local scientists. It is well known that these countries have different perceptions of antimicrobial resistance, and it seems crucial to develop approaches to preventing and controlling antimicrobial resistance that are accepted by local populations (an action that will converge with measure 13 of the AMR plan’s coordinated action). The other objective is to be able to react rapidly in the event of the emergence of new microbial resistance in countries with limited resources.
