Observatory dedicated to social sciences

This observatory of analyses, discourses, practices and uses in relation to antibiotic prescribing, is a key element in understanding the sociocultural and contextual roots of antibiotic resistance and prescribing.

Setting up a network to analyze the discourse, practices and uses associated with antibiotics and antibiotic resistance. This network’s main mission will be to focus initially on the socio-economic system, context and mechanisms in the human and animal world, in order to understand the socio-cultural and contextual roots of antibiotic resistance. This also includes links with health researchers, the “behaviors” of players and the doctor-patient, veterinarian-animal, farmer-animal interactions that lead to prescriptions. This network is essential if we are to fully integrate all the sub-disciplines of the human and social sciences into the issue of antibiotic resistance.
