Phage therapy (the use of bacteriophages to combat bacteria) is one of them. However, antibiotics are still important weapons in our fight against pathogenic microorganisms, and must be considered as we assess any novel approaches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/journal\/antibiotics\/events\/13247?utm_campaign=releaseissue_antibioticsutm_medium=emailutm_source=releaseissueutm_term=conflink1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">This webinar<\/a> is focused on the comparison and interplay between antibiotics and phage therapy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Invited speakers are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Dr. Breck A. Duerkop<\/strong>, Assistant Professor, Department of Immunology and Microbiology, University of Colorado School of Medicine, Aurora, CO, USA,<\/li><li><strong>Dr. George Tetz<\/strong>, MD, PhD, Human Microbiology Institute, NY, USA,<\/li><li><strong>Dr. Ryszard Miedzybrodzki,&nbsp;<\/strong>MD, PhD., Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy, Wroclaw, Poland.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>They will discuss various fascinating subjects related to phage-mediated dictation of antibiotic resistance and polymicrobial interactions, efficacy of phage therapy relative to the use of antibiotics, and also phages as new human pathogens.
