OFFER DESCRIPTION

Work environment:

Position is available in Konstantin Brodolin’s team at IRIM (Montpellier, France). IRIM, a research center dedicated to the basic research in the fields of bacteriology, virology, and immunology. IRIM is located in the CNRS – University campus which provides rich and dynamic scientific environment. K. Brodolin’s team explores molecular mechanisms of transcription regulation in the pathogenic bacteria by using biochemical, biophysical and structural approaches. Major research focus is on the interplay between RNA polymerase, transcription factors and antibiotics.

Main mission:

Explore a role of transcriptional regulators in resistance to the antibiotic fidaxomicin targeting bacterial RNA polymerase.

Activities:

Successful candidate will explore molecular mechanisms of antibiotic resistance and will participate in development of the novel antibacterial molecules. Methods to be used will include/in silico/drug design, RNA-seq, Chip-seq and/in vitro/enzymatic assays.
