The funding will support the further clinical development of SPR206, an intravenously (IV)-administered next-generation polymyxin product candidate derived from Spero\u2019s potentiator platform that is being developed to treat serious multi-drug resistant (MDR) Gram-negative infections in the hospital setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initial award provides funding for pharmacokinetic\/pharmacodynamic studies to aid in dose selection, manufacturing process development, clinical microbiology, and support for regulatory interactions. SPR206 has demonstrated&nbsp;potent broad-spectrum activity&nbsp;against Gram-negative bacteria, including organisms identified by the&nbsp;Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the&nbsp;World Health Organization as urgent and serious threats to human health.
